Breadcrumbs (EN)
breadcrumb is a small text path, often at the top of a page. For example, on [go-britain.co.uk](http://go-britain.nl) the path to the Adidas Shoes page is _Home / Shoes / Adidas shoes_. This breadcrumb trail immediately shows you where you are. Each step of that path is clickable, all the way back to the home page.
In Afosto this path can be fixed per product to improve the internal link structure of the website. You can give more value to one page compared to another page, because you can link to one page from more products.
## How to do it
To set up breadcrumbs you need to follow these steps:
1. Make sure at your account manager that the plugin 'Breadcrumbs' is activated.
2. Make sure you think about a logical layout for the breadcrumbs. For example, if no one would search on 'Adidas lace-up shoes', then it's better to have them link to the 'Adidas shoes' page so that more internal links are generated to that page.
3. Give the products a specification called 'Breadcrumb' where you specify which page should be the first page above the product page itself in the breadcrumb. See the following example:
4. \- _Home / Shoes / Adidas shoes / Adidas continental 80 eg3099 sneakers tracar/mesa/nbrown_
5. In order to attach this breadcrumb, the above product must have a specification 'Adidas shoes'.
6. Using the 'Breadcrumbs' plugin you can specify which specification you want to use for setting breadcrumbs.
7. After specifying this specification, click 'Set Breadcrumbs'.
8. You will find an overview of all the values present under the 'breadcrumb' specification.
9. Each value can link to a page. Therefore, to set up the breadcrumb of step 3, you use the specification 'Adidas shoes' and you link it to the page 'Adidas shoes'. This way the breadcrumb path for all products with that specification starts at 'Adidas shoes'.
